Training and study in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with integrative medicine.
SWISS TCM UNI offers study programs for Bachelor’s, Master’s, as well as Doctor/PhD students. The long-standing partnership with NJUCM creates a solid basis for trustful cooperation and offers a special added value for students and lecturers of TCM and conventional medicine.
Students and lecturers from Switzerland and abroad can exchange professional and cultural experiences at the same time. In addition to teaching TCM with integrative medicine in Switzerland, students also learn and experience the teachings in China, where TCM originated. Thus, the health culture and the typical essence of TCM are transferred even more intensively and with an even greater learning effect from the lecturer to the student.
The courses of study comply with the Qualification Framework for Swiss Higher Education (nqf.ch-HS) and are based on the quality standards for the accreditation of courses of study in human medicine, dentistry, and chiropractic following the Medical Profession Act (MedBG).
SWISS TCM UNI also meets the qualification requirements for medical studies at Chinese universities.
To accumulate knowledge, one needs above all the head;to understand it and transform it into lasting knowledge, also the heart. Those who learn and do not repeat and practice what they have learned are like farmers who only sow and do not reap afterward.

TCM study programs: the overall design.
A degree program consists of several modules. Each TCM module is composed of different courses. The curricula for TCM studies in the degree program of Bachelor, Master, and Master+ each consist of eight modules.
The following are the eight different TCM modules:
- Humanities TCM
- Health Culture
- Preclinical TCM
- Clinic TCM
- Preclinical School Medicine
- Clinic School Medicine
- Longitudinal Course
- Longitudinal Practice
The TCM modules teach in the first five levels (Bachelor) the essential competencies for a conscious and knowledgeable working as a TCM therapist. The second five levels (Master) teach in-depth competencies for an accomplished practice as a TCM physician according to Chinese standards.
Internships, study trips, and mobility are important forms of teaching and learning in the degree programs to successfully apply knowledge from all module categories and to gain experience. Students deepen their holistic knowledge in terms of the integrative medicine approach and apply it in prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and aftercare.
The following figure shows the structure of the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Master+’s degree programs in five levels each up to the Doctor / PhD in TCM.
